Who clearly needs to go through the stress of booking wedding gown designers when your fiancé is the only son of bridal couture designer Elie Saab? That was the wedding case of Lebanese daughter Christine Mourad, who tied the knots with Elie Saab Jr, over the weekend in Lebanon.
Staying consistent and upfront with bridal couture inventions since 1980, Elie Saab made sure her daughter-in-law had the best fairytale outfit on her big day. Two costumes all crowned with long hours made veils stole the spotlight for both the day ceremony and night reception gala.
For the exchange of vows ceremony, Elie Saab outdid himself by charming her daughter-in-law’s appearance with a custom-made Elie Saab Haute Couture sleeveless tulle gown matched up with a 14-foot train. The gown was embroidered with ivory silk and champagne lurex thread together with 500,000 sequins, all coming together to make the entire look.
Hundreds of hours were spent in making the dress with 450 on embroidery. It took the charming hands of 34 creatives from Saab’s camp to complete the couture. Adding more wounds to the design, a veil and headpiece embroidered with silk thread, champagne lurex thread and another 50,00 sequins were added to give it the extra glamour.
After the ‘I DO’ religious event was the reception gala, Mourad appeared dressed in heart shaped corset gown embroidered with 650,000 gold sequins and 150,000 Swarovski strass pieces. The look was topped up with a veil embroidered with another 100,000 gold sequins.
In attendance at the reception was Dita Von Teese, Karolina Kurkova and Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
