We all know life to be unpredictable but one can’t prepare enough for its shocks. Ebony Reigns appeared on the entertainment scene in 2015 and she made constantly made waves with her songs and performances.
Realizing that we have lost such a promising and vibrant talent like her is heartbreaking beyond words. She lived a brief and yet intense life. She was able to achieve what most people in the industry haven’t in five years. Not everyone was a fan of her songs, but her free-spirited personality was admirable. But she won more hearts with her ‘Maame Hw3’ track released last year.
The VGMAs this year was a highly anticipated event because Ebony among the other new artists were expected to win big at the awards. Undoubtedly, she left an indelible mark in the entertainment industry with her talent and heartwarming personality.
All things being equal, this year would have the beginning of bigger opportunities for Ebony Reigns considering the fact that she was about to travel for her European tour on February 10, 2018. But as fate would have it, her life was taken away on the 8th, upon her return from a visit to her mother.
One can’t help but ask a lot of ‘what if’ questions with futile hope that would have prevented this tragedy but the truth is, we don’t know what would have happened if she had begun her travel back to Accra early on Friday morning or hadn’t gone to see her mother at all.
She will always be fondly remembered as her pretty face which always wore a smile is what is imprinted in the memories of those who both overtly and secretly admired her.
To everyone reading this, remember tomorrow is not promised. Whatever you need to do, don’t procrastinate. Make every breathing moment worth your while. Ebony was passionate and fierce with her music and no one can hate her for it.
Whenever you’re tempted to think and say, ‘Today was uneventful. Can’t wait for it to pass,’ remember, someone didn’t get to see today. Be grateful for each day and don’t waste it.
