Legendary gospel musicians, Diana Hopeson and Rev. Thomas Yawson have been honored with the Gospel Music Legend awards at the 5th edition of GSMTV Gospel Awards. The event, which took place in Minnesota, USA bestowed the legendary titles on the two icons for their dedication and contribution to the Ghana music industry.
Speaking on her recognition, Diana disclosed, “This is a good one for me and I appreciate it. At least, it is fulfilling to know that someone out there is watching you and honors you for your works.” Rev. Yawson also stated that the award puts a plus on his work, “Most time people appreciate you by word of mouth, but when that translates into action such as this, it is very humbling and a plus to my works. I am not retiring anytime soon and this award has encouraged me to do more.”
Diana has been on the gospel scene for years beyond count and served as MUSIGA president for 4 years, where she played the role of an administrator and representative of the Ghana Music industry. With 9 albums at her credit, Diana has been very instrumental in the projection of the gospel through her music.
Rev. Thomas Yawson also doubles as a gospel composer and arranger. Throughout his career in the music industry at large, he has been very vocal in the production of good music, which goes beyond a year hit song to a lifetime favorite. Some of his hit songs include; Wadom Do So, Never Give Up and Oye Jesus.
