Demi Lovato is set to star in a developing single-camera comedy series ‘Hungry’. The show is in a put pilot order at NBC.
The story follows a group of friends, who belong to a food issues group helping each other look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.
Suzanne Martin is behind the script and will also executive produce alongside Lovato, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner via Hazy Mills. Scooter Braun together with his SB Project executive partners James Shin and Scott Manson will also serve as EPs to the project.
‘Hungry’ is the latest television development from Hazy and Martin, after their collaborated work on ‘Hot in Cleveland’, ‘The Soul Man’ and ‘Crowded’.
Lovato, who has six studio albums to her credit, has appeared in some films and television shows in Hollywood. Her breakout film was the Disney Channel original ‘Camp Rock’. Subsequent to that, Lovato has starred in episodes on shows such as; ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘From Dusk Til Dawn’ and the ‘Will & Grace’ revival on NBC.
Universal Television is producing.
