November 8 will mark another podium moment for Oscar winner Charlize Theron. The actress, producer and philanthropist has been named as recipient of the 33rd American Cinematheque Award.
The annual fundraiser event selected Theron for the honorary prize on merits of her transformational talent in films such as; Monster (the Oscar winning film), North Country, Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde, Young Adult, Tully, The Cider House Rules and Long Shot. Rick Nicita, American Cinematheque chairman described of Theron’s talent, “It is obvious from her career that her immense talent cannot be categorized or confined.”
Being the preferred choice of the AC honorary award, Theron joins the likes of previous A-list Hollywood winners, Amy Adams, Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Bradley Cooper, Robert Downey, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Jodie Foster, George Clooney, Martin Scorsese, Samuel L. Jackson and Steven Spielberg.
Hundreds are expected to make an appearance on the eve of the gala, where Theron will be celebrated for her significant contribution to the art of the motion picture. Paul Flattery will executive produce the show, whiles Irene Crinita produces it with Corrinne Mann as event producer.
Theron stars as Megyn Kelly in the upcoming movie centered around late Fox News founder Roger Alies, which is yet-to-be given a title, but set to be released in December 2019. The actress is currently filming ‘The Old Guard’ based on the comic book series by Greg Rucka and illustrator Leandro Fernandez.
