On October 26, 2018 BAFTA presented its annual Britannia honoree award to six of Hollywood’s most iconic personalities of all time namely Jim Carrey, Emilia Clarke, Damain Lewis, Kevin Feige, Cate Blanchett and Steve McQueen. The ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with British actor and comedian Jack Whitehall as its host.
The two-time academy award winning actress Cate Blanchett was honored with Stanley Kubrick Britannia award for her excellence in film. Game of Thrones star actress, Emilia Clarke was presented with the Britannia award for British Artist of the year, which is a tribute to a talented actor whose outstanding, iconic performances have demonstrated the high quality of their craftsmanship.
President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige was also honored with the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia award for worldwide contribution to entertainment. British director Steve McQueen on the other hand was honored with the John Schlesinger Britannia award for excellence in directing.
Stand-up comedian Jim Carrey received the Charlie Chaplin Britannia award for excellence in comedy for his talent, which has brood a cultural impact in the class of comedy. Damian Lewis was also awarded with the Britannia award for Excellence in Television for his extraordinary talent and global appeal has been instrumental in the elevation of the medium of television.
Aside the honorees of the night, the event was graced by Oscar winning actress Viola Davis, Fast and Furious star girl Michelle Rodriguez, Sarah Miles from Ryan’s Daughter and many others.
