Bola Ray is letting the cat out of the bag. The Business Executive, who functions as CEO of EIB Network has explained the reason for the exit of some of his staff members at the power media house.
Bola’s revelation came into being last night, August 22, at the IYES summit, inside the National Theater. According to him, the huge number resignations that flooded his office desk was as result of non-payment of salaries for eight months. “In the month of August 2018, I had a lot of people walking away because it was difficult. Someone came to me and said, ‘My wife is insulting me because I have not been able to take money home for some months now.’ It got to a point that anybody who walks into my office, I ask, ‘Are you resigning?’
With part of the company’s top radio and television presenters as well as behind-the-scenes production members leaving, Bola Ray disclosed to the audience seated that he has learnt not all stay when there is a storm. He said, “When you shake the storm, they will move.”
Last year was highlighted as a season of back and forth resignations at EIB Network, following the high move of presenters from their birth stations including Starr FM, GHOne TV and Live FM.
The speak-out of the Bola Ray, however does not cement the cause of exit of popular names in the media fraternity such as Kafui Dey, Abena Owusu Nyamekye, Giovanni Caleb, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku and others who left last year.
Despite EIB’s loss of renowned presenters, the station still boasts of in-house talents and seasoned News Anchors and presenters such as Nana Aba Anamoah (GHOne TV) and Nana Okyere Darko (Starr FM).
