Billie Eilish is joining the James Bond franchise as the newest writer and performer for the next Bond installment titled ‘No Time To Die’. The accomplishment makes Eilish the youngest artist in history to write and record a theme for the franchise.
“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock,” said Eilish.
Eilish will compose the theme song alongside her older brother Finneas O’Connell. “Writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives. We feel so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise. Long live 007,” said O’Connell.
Previously, Sheena Easton held the title as the youngest artist to sing over the opening title of the film ‘For Your Eyes Only’ in 1981. She was then 22 years old.
In the last two productions of the Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’, their theme songs performed by Adele and Sam Smith respectively took home Academy Awards for best original songs in 2013 and 2016.
‘No Time to Die’ is set to open in cinemas on April 3, 2020 and will be the last run of Daniel Craig as the famous James Bond.
