The political front of Nigeria is about to get musical come 2019. The newest gentleman to join in the race of political figures in the country is the tagged ‘Chris Brown’ of Nigeria, Banky W.
Under the flagship of The Modern Democratic Party, Banky W will contest for Federal House of Representatives for the Eti Osa Constituency. He made his intentions known at the party’s convention on Saturday, November 10 and later shared a post on Instagram, where he doubled it with words of hope as inscribed boldly on his campaign logo. He wrote, ” They said we don’t have the money to run. we say our strength lies in our numbers. They said we don’t have the structure, we say we will attempt to build it. They said “what if you lose”? I say, what if we win?”
He continued for the caption, “You see, my entire life has been a story of just dreaming dreams, praying about those dreams, setting goals, and working until they come true. I can live with trying and failing. I cannot live with not trying. So while we may not have a godfather, we do have God. And we have vision. And intellectual capacity. And integrity. And the right intentions. And last but not least, a whole lot of hope. At the end of the day, hope may be all we have, but I believe that it is all we need. Thank you and God bless Nigeria. #Hope19 #EtiOsa #MDP.”
The Yes/No hit maker joins the tall list of Nigerian celebrities who have over the years taken stands in politics, of which they include, Desmond Elliot, Hilda Dokubo, Bob-Manuel, Julius Agwu, Richard Mofe Damijo and many more.
The new aspirant will be seen next at the One Africa Music Fest concert on November 16, in Dubai which will have performances from Wizkid, Sarkodie, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Nasty C and a host of many.
