Aurum Fashion -Building Cultural Bridges

Fashion is a language understood by all people regardless of their race, religion, or geographical location. Different cultures all over the world have their own unique understanding and interpretation of fashion. As a result, there are visible differences in the style and dressing of people. Aurum Fashion is a fast-growing fashion brand that combines the best of African styles with European styled products to create a unique blend that many agree looks stunning. Aurum Fashion makes products with Dutch wax fabric accents that combine the best features of European fashion with the vibrant colours and patterns found in African typically west designs.

Lyneke Harris, the designer of the products and owner of Aurum Fashion, didn’t have to go far to come up with the idea. Being a half Dutch half English woman married to a Cameroonian, Lyneke had more than enough cultural influences to draw ideas from. When Lyneke noticed African designs were gaining a lot of attention from fashion icons and fashion fans, she knew she had found what she needed. A blend of rare African designs on European manufactured clothes was the edge she needed to succeed in the tough fashion world. In 2015, Lyneke started making plans and developed a business model for her new fashion company.

After starting her company Aurum Fashion, Lyneke developed her first polos from her Afro-European designs to give her growing fan base an idea of what her designs looked like. After great reception of the polos from her customers, Lyneke decided to expand and started creating other pieces of clothing with the same touch of vibrant African colours.

Each Aurum Fashion piece is created meticulously to compliment both European and African cultures. The shirts are made using high quality pique cotton which is created and manufactured in western Europe. Aurum Fashion is not just about making profits. Lyneke has a passion for helping the needy in society. Since designs originate from Africa, Lyneke decided to support a charity known as the TEM Foundation which is aimed at helping orphans, widows, and disabled people in the African country Cameroon.

The charity provides food, clothing, and water to the poor so that their lives can change for the better. Every time a customer buys an Aurum Fashion piece, 10% of the profit goes directly to the TEM Foundation to help in starting and supporting ongoing charity projects in Africa. Aurum Fashion customers get to not only look stunning but also feel good knowing they helped by supporting others.
