American singer/songwriter Britney Spears, has checked into a mental health facility following a recent emotional distress. Spears is said to have checked into the facility a week ago and will remain there for the next 30 days. Reports coming in from Variety.com indicates that Spears’ emotional distress is as a result of her father's health crisis, which has taken a big blow at the singer who has a close relationship with her father. A source close to Spears shared with Page Six, "Britney was having a hard time dealing with her dad's health issues. Britney hasn't been drinking or doing drugs or anything. She just has some very difficult emotional and mental health issues. She's gone away to try with her issues before they get worse." Confirming her current status to her 21.6M followers on Instagram, Britney shared in post which read, "Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit," and captioned it, "We all need to take time for a little "me time" The news about her mental health fallout comes in exactly three months after the singer announced the cancellation of her Las Vegas residency and putting her career on an indefinite hiatus, so as to make time for her ailing father. Back in 2007, Spears suffered a mental disorder which led her into shaving her hair and attacking a paparazzi with an umbrella. She later checked into the psych ward at UCLA's Medical Center.
