Popular entertainment channel, 4syte TV has announced that as part of their rebranding strategy,m it will air 85% of Ghanaian music content and 15% foreign.
The Urban entertainment channel has over the years been known for its back to back play of music, both local and foreign, alongside hosting top notch entertainment talk shows. However, it has received backlash from Ghanaian music artistes, who raised concerns about the high play of foreign music by the station than the local ones. In an interview with entertainment blogger, George Mensah Britton, Rev Erskine disclosed that as part of the station's rebranding to something bigger and exciting it will now play more Ghanaian music than foreign music.
"Now we are airing 85% of Ghanaian content from Hiplife and Highlife on 4syte TV, " said Erskine. He added," 4syte believes Ghana began the afrobeat journey with our Highlife and Hiplife genre and 4stye wants us to still keep these genres fresh in people's memory". 4syte TV doubles as the only channel that has awarded excellence in Ghanaian made musical videos since 2009 when the 4syte TV Music Video Awards was birth in the award calendars.
