Emmy award winning actor Alec Baldwin is tying his brand influence with Zynga, the game developer for ‘Words With Friends’ in celebration of the mobile game’s 10-year-anniversary.
Baldwin’s association with the mobile game will oversee the actor appear in marketing and social materials beginning this Fall. Launched in 2009, the game has amassed a large audience and rise to become one of the most popular games due to its social element users can play with others anytime.
Baldwin’s interest with the game started right when the game was developed in 2009. Commenting about the formed partnership, Baldwin disclosed about his excitement with the game, “I have been playing ‘Words With Friends’ for nearly a decade, on soundstages, in greenrooms, and on airplanes. It’s great to play a game that engages your intellect and your social side simultaneously that’s why I spelled ‘Y-E-S’ when Zynga asked me to get involved.”
“Alec Baldwin and ‘Words With Friends’ are forever linked in popular culture and his authentic love for the game resonates with the game’s community,” added Zynga’s President of Publishing Bernard Kim.
In the second quarter of 2019, revenue from Zynga’s mobile sector was the highest in the company’s history at $287 million. The recorded feat was as a result of income generated from games ‘Words With Friends’ ‘Empire & Puzzles’ and ‘Merge Dragons’.
‘The Hollywood Reporter’ confirms that they are anticipating an even higher mark for revenue next quarter with the continued performances of their signature titles.
