Accra is set to be busy come November 21-24 as Ghana will host the 5th All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA 2018.
The event will kickstart on November 21 with a welcoming AFRIMA reception in honor of arriving nominees, both in Ghana and outside, delegates, African Union officials, members of the International Committee of AFRIMA, media and other invited guests.
On November 22, between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:40 pm, the ballroom of Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra will host the Africa Music Business Summit (AMBS), with the theme, “African Music in a Global Village: Leveraging the opportunities.” In the late hours of the day, A-lists artistes in Africa together with upcoming artistes will entertain patrons of African music with a thrilling back-to-back performances from 5:00 pm till dawn.
November 23 will have invited guests touring around the beautiful landmarks and sights of their host city, Accra to bring out the cultural and historical dynamism of the city. The nominees’ party will follow after the tour at 10:00 pm to engage all nominees before the main show takes place the following day.
The main event on November 24, will broadcast live on selected media outlets across the African continent from the Accra International Conference Center at 7:30 pm preceded by a live red carpet event at 4:30 pm. The event will be climaxed with an AFRIMA After Party at the Pool Bar, Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast Accra, Ghana.
In partnership with the African Union Commission, AFRIMA seeks to reward Africa’s music talents living on the continent or in the diaspora, it stimulates conversations among Africans and between Africa and the rest of the globe about the great potentials and values of the African musical and artistic heritage for the purpose of creating jobs, reducing poverty, calling the attention of world leaders to Africa and promoting the positive image of Africa to the world for global competitiveness.
