Tomorrow, The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences will put out the names of nominees for its 91st show. Recognized as the biggest award show amongst others in the award season, every big name in Hollywood do not take for granted the chance to have an Oscar win or nomination under the portfolio. To both the actors and artists, who compete for the best original song slot (despite a Grammy win), a single nomination is enough to hail them as ultimate champions.
In its 91st season, you may think that every big name in Hollywood has an Oscar to his or her credit, but that cannot be a bragging right to many, who we deem as favorites. At the mention of most nominated, the legendary actress Meryl Streep, is without any contest the one. In debate for first time nominees winning in the end, Black Panther actress, Lupita Nyong’o is the name to mention, but then, what do we make of those without a win after several nominations alongside the box office record setters without a single nomination to their belt.
We love them alright, but these crops of actors have remained ‘Oscarless’ since their debut on our screens. Ahead of the 91st Academy Awards nominees announcement tomorrow, January 22, let’s take a detour per the many times of nominations and the none’s of some Hollywood stars who do not have their names in the catalogue of Oscar nominated and winners.
