Ariana Grande is one of the few pop star icons who had an amazing music career last year, but in the midst of all the charts topping and show headlines, Grande was not lucky with her relationships. Gracing the August cover of Vogue Magazine, Grande lets it all out on how she handled and survived the death of her then ex-fiance Mac Miller.
At the time of losing a beloved (Mac Miller) whom she shared beautiful memories with, all through to the time of breaking up with Pete Davidson (a boyfriend she even had a tattoo on her body for), the ‘Thank You, Next’ singer was in a mind questioning moment as to why she deserved all that misfortune. She opines that she wonders why such things only had to happen to her, “I’m still figuring out why all has only happened to me. I don’t even know what to say about my own self now. I see myself as this perfect entertainer, who’s great at her job, on stages. But whenever such thing crosses my way, I go numb and just can’t figure out where to go next.”
Miller’s death was one big blow to the pop star. It became a case study for therapist to help her through, while taking into consideration the advice of people closer to her. Grande disclosed, “I constantly researched PTSD and healing measures to overcome it. I talked to therapists and did everything trying to come of my severities. Whilst everyone was like “its’s so usual to happen, you need a routine and you’ll be fine.” I accepted everything they said and went on to tour my next concert without thinking about my wounds any further.”
In April last month, Grande was a headline artiste for the annual ‘Coachella’ music festival. Thousands of her followers were entertained by her performance on stage, but clearly, throughout the loud cheer and applause, Ariana was feeling the Miller presence and effect in a good way. ” It’s always hard to sing songs that talks about your afresh wounds. It’s fun. It’s pop music, and I never tried to make it sound like something else, but these songs really felt like a heavy sh*t to me.”
