Traverse City Film Festival will honor eight-time Emmy Award winning actress Lily Tomlin, with a lifetime achievement award during this year’s season coming up on July 30, through to August 4. Tomlin succeeds her co ‘Jane & Frankie’ star Jane Fonda, who picked up the honor last year.
“We are thrilled to have Lily Tomlin join us on the 15th anniversary of our festival. As a native Detroiter, she helped to define American comedy in the 20th century. We are proud to present her with our annual Lifetime Achievement Award,” said festival’s founder and president Michael Moore.
Tomlin will also feature in a 90-minute on-stage keynote conversation with Moore and attend a festival screening of a documentary, which captures behind-the-scenes moment of her Tony award winning play. As part of her honorary recognition and tile, Tomlin will join the likes of past honorees; Jane Fonda, Madonna, Susan Sarandon, Dick Gregory, Matthew Modine, Kristine Bell and others on TCFF’s Walk of Fame by adding her hand prints and signature.
The legendary actress is accorded with many award titles in film, television and other circles all rounded up with eight Emmys, two Tony awards and a Grammy for her comedy album ‘This is a Recording’ in 1971.
