Award winning Kumawood actor Bill Asamoah, has been appointed Tourism Ambassador by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
His appointment comes in after Kumawood unanimously nominated him to be appointed as an ambassador. The actor, who is no new face in the movie industry, will serve in his capacity as the newest tourism ambassador to help promote Ghana to the world through the films he makes and stars in, whiles enhancing the business aspect of film making to gather more investors into the country.
Bill joins the likes of SP Kofi Sarpong, Lucky Mensah, D-Black, Reggie and Bollie, Nana Ampadu, Agya Koo, Sena Degadu, Fancy Gadam and more, who were appointed in 2017 as tourism ambassadors to Ghana. Picking up his appointment letter at the office of the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Hon. Catherine Afeku, Bill, who doubles as President of the Ashanti Regional chapter of the Ghana Actors Guild, was assured by the minister that the incumbent government has not neglected the people of Kumasi in terms of tourism.
She disclosed in an Instagram post, “The Nana Addo led government has not neglected the people of Kumasi in terms of Tourism, Arts and Culture development as some media reports suggest, but instead we are trying our very best to make the industry attractive for both local and foreign investors to want to invest.”
