Lyst Index, a global fashion platform, which analyzes the online shopping behavior of more than 5 million shoppers searching, browsing and buying fashion items across 12,000 designers and stores online has ranked Gucci as the most popular brand in the fashion community in the final quarter of 2018. Their world domination was hugely influenced by the effect of their brand accessories such as Gucci bags, belt and shoes, of which was browsed online by 6 million people according to the ranking within the space of October through to December 2018.
Off-White and Balenciaga follows at the second and third position respectively, a feat which is a step down for Off-White knowing their immediate overthrow from the top spot to Gucci. Balenciaga, however owes their third place position partly to Michelle Obama’s holographic glitter boot moment for her ‘Becoming’ press interview and Cardi B’s endorsement for the brand at fashion weeks last year. Moncler came in fourth position, whiles Fendi came in fifth, credited to the brand’s Fila collaboration and double F logo, which was much appreciated by street style lovers.
Other noticeable brands such as Versace, Stone Island, Vetements, Valentino and Burberry rounded-up the top 10 list from the sixth to tenth position in their order of arrangement. The Nike X Off-White Ten Series also ranked the number spot for the hottest label collaboration in 2018.
In other parts of the ranking, Gucci again topped the top ten category of enlisted fashion products with their Gucci Soho Disco bag, which was launched in 2014 coming first on the list together with their Gucci logo belt coming in second. Versace’s baroque bathrobe surprisingly moved up to a 240 percent search online after Drake and Kanye West posted pictures of themselves wearing it on Instagram. An ad, which has merited the brand the eight spot on the fashion product list.
