Every A-list star in Hollywood made it to Los Angeles last night in celebration of the 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards, set to honor the best in film and television.
Not so much of a buzz as the Oscars or Globes, but has over the years since its inception, become a lead in obviously knowing who is likely to take home an Academy award. At the end of the night, the all-black cast of the 2018 hit drama film ‘Black Panther’, scored the highest bid with their ‘Outstanding Performance by a cast in a motion picture’ win, equivalent to a best picture win.
The Globes and Critics Choice winners for best actor and actress in a leading role, Rami Malek and Glenn Close, respectively, received the honors of winning the same category they have been winning throughout the award season broadcast. For the first time this year, Emily Blunt took home the best supporting actress for ‘A Quiet Place’, while Mahershala Ali won his second SAG, with ‘Green Book’ for a performance by an actor in a supporting role.
On the television side, ‘This Us’ cast was named best drama series, alongside Rachel Brosnahan and Tony Shalhoub winning best actress and best actor in a TV comedy series in addition to the series ‘ The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ win for best ensemble in a comedy series.
