In the wake of facing backlash from Surviving R Kelly docu-series, the R&B singer is still pulling strings with his music.
Although dropped by his longtime record label Sony, Kelly’s songs ‘I Believe I can Fly’ and ‘Ignition’ have re-entered the Billboard R&B Digital Song Sales chart. Dependent on record, Ignition places at No.12 and Fly at No.19. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ignition also has streamed over 3.1 million in the U.S., since the documentary was premiered to unmask the true nature Kelly. His album ‘The Essential R Kelly’ also made it on the Billboard top R&B Albums chart at No.19, for the first time since 2015, plus making a debut on the Billboard 200 at No. 46 on the Top Catalog Albums Chart.
No clues as to who actually placed the song on the chart lists, but it has become evident that despite the distance of industry players such as, lady Gaga, Ciara, John Legend, Chance The Rapper and Celine Dion, some key influencers within the music circles are still backing the decade-long singer to shine regardless of sexual molestation allegations.
