New York stand up! The Victoria’s Secret angels are coming back to New York city for the 2018 show after its two-year trip abroad in 2016 and 2017. This will be the 16th time the city of stars will host the catwalk show. It staged its first catwalk event there in 1995.
The decision to make a comeback to the annual host city is due to the major backslide the show suffered last year in Shanghai as some models booked for the runway were denied their visas, ultimately leading to their drop out from the show. The VS after-party was also reportedly shut down by police at 11:50 pm last year, which contradicts with previous year’s after party closing time.
This year’s Victoria’s Secret show will be broadcast in 190 countries, and will also feature a number of musical performances, which will be announced in the next coming weeks.
World famous models such as Bella Hadid, Devon Windsor, Estelle Chen, Grace Bol, Alexina Graham and more have been billed for the night. The newest face to join the club is model Winnie Harlow, who will double as the first Vitiligo model to walk the famous runway.
The Victoria’s Secret catwalk show is the most watched fashion event of the year, 800 million people tune in annually to watch.
