R&R Luxury was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Skincare Product’ category for its bestselling Lemongrass Shea Oil in this year’s Ghana Makeup Awards.
The brand’s CEO/Founder, Valerie Obaze, was presented with the award at the 2nd edition of the Ghana Makeup Awards at a ceremony which took place at Kempinski Hotel in Accra last weekend. The awards recognise the best brands and beauty entrepreneurs in Ghana, who were voted for by the public.
The awards were held as part of a week-long celebration dubbed ‘Makeup & Beauty Week’ which was put on to highlight the economic impact of the Ghanaian and African Makeup and Beauty industries. As part of the week-long celebrations, R&R Luxury also exhibited at the ‘Africa Makeup & Beauty Fair’ which took place at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
“It’s a great honour to have won the Best Skincare Product in this year’s Ghana Makeup Awards. I would like to say a quick thank you to Rebecca Donkor, the founder of Makeup Ghana, for creating this amazing platform which recognises beauty entrepreneurs across Africa. After almost 8 years in this industry, it feels great to pick up R&R’s first award in my hometown Accra! I’m personally grateful to be given this opportunity.
I, and the whole of team R&R, wish to dedicate this award to the amazing, STRONG, beautiful women in the rural North of Ghana who work from sunrise to sunset processing the wonderful ingredients we use in our products. Without them, we couldn’t do what we do.”
As well as being named the ‘Best Skincare Product’ in the Ghana Makeup Awards, R&R Luxury’s popular Lemongrass Shea Oil has also been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s Pure Beauty Global Awards in the ‘Best New Ethnic Product’ category. The luxury beauty brand also won the Genevieve Magazine Beauty Award for ‘Best Natural Product’ in 2016.
