Chalé, a premium Ghanaian fashion and accessory brand, will host its first UK Pop-Up shop in London on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Black in Carnaby. The pop up featuring culturally themed socks, sweaters, sweatshirts, jerseys, and totes reflecting African youth culture and Ghana’s vibrant street and urban subcultures, will launch at 12 p.m. and followed by a cocktail reception at 6 p.m sponsored by London Manya, a sparkling Palm Wine spirit.
After successful pop ups in NYC and during Afrochella Festival in Accra, Ghana, Chalé is bringing their globally popular brand to London to connect with supporters who previously were only able to purchase online or at retailers in Ghana. Chalé will be a featured brand at Black in Carnaby, the first black owned physical concept store in London’s West End managed by My Runway Group.
“With the rise of Afrobeats and African pop music and culture, there has been more attention than ever on all things African including fashion brands. Chalé is among the new wave of young African designers who are inspired by the music and are fusing aspects of their culture and homeland with a fresh global perspective,” says Muhammida El Muhajir, Director of Strategy at WaxPrint Media, organizer of the pop up and an advocate/consultant for emerging African brands.
