The fifth and sixth seasons of Netflix’s British royal series ‘The Crown’ will have Elizabeth Debicki play late Princess Diana.
“Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one,” Debicki shared.
Debicki is best known for her performance in the BBC drama series ‘The Night Manager’ as well as ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.”. She is set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s much anticipated film release ‘Tenet’.
‘The Crown’ franchise will also cast Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth while Lesley Manville plays Princess Margaret with Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip for the last two seasons.
The Emmy winning series is yet again nominated for multiple Emmys this year in the categories of outstanding drama series, outstanding lead actress in a drama series for Olivia Colman, who played the Queen in the third and fourth installments and outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for Helena Bonham Carter.
