Hollywood actor Idris Elba has tested positive to contracting coronavirus. The actor made the shocking revelation via his Twitter handle Monday evening, GMT.
“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus,” said Elba in a caption that accompanied the posted video.
With no symptoms to serve as cue to the disease, Elba disclosed that he took the test when he noticed he had been exposed to someone who tested positive last Friday. Since then, the ‘Luther’ star has quarantined himself and currently undergoing treatment to speed up his recovery.
Last week Wednesday, Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson also tested positive to having the virus in Australia. Hanks and Wilson have since then kept themselves apart from public appearances and taking to social media to share the state of their health with the concerned public.
Cases of spread of the virus keep increasing by day and as such Elba shared in his video the need for everyone to get tested the moment the unusual sets in. ” If you’re feeling ill or you feel like you should be tested or you’ve been exposed, then do something about it. It’s really important.”
