Olivia Jade returns to YouTube after nine-month break

After starving over 1.93 million subscribers to her YouTube channel for months now, Olivia Jade Giannulli has finally made a comeback on the site.

With her return video, Giannulli admitted to her long break and followed up with a clue as to why she has been off for a while, “Obviously I’ve been gone for a really long time and as much as I wish I could talk about all of this, it’s really hard for me to say his because I know it’s something that needs to be addressed. It’s just unfortunately, which is also why I didn’t know exactly when I should come back to YouTube, but the reason for that is that I’m legally not allowed to speak on anything going on right now.”

She also thanked her die-hard subscribers for sticking around all this while, despite her absence, “Thank you so much for your patience or if you’ve stuck around for nine months just waiting. I really appreciate it. This is the best I can do and I want to move on with my life.”

The popular YouTuber and daughter of Hollywood actress Lori Loughlin, took a break from her frequent video postings on the platform after her mother was involved in the college admission scandal, known as Operation Varsity Blues in April this year. It was reported by several international media outlets about the payment of $500,000 by Loughlin to get her two daughters Olivia and Isabella Rose admission to the University of Southern California on fake athletic credentials.

The case, which is still undergoing hearing, has had Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli plead not guilty on three counts. A status conference has been set for January 17,2020, following the previous court attendance. Variety reports that, if Loughlin and Giannulli continue to fight the charges, a trial is expected sometime in 2020.

In the wake of the scandal, Jade suffered a huge drop-off from various brands she was affiliated with as a beauty and fashion blogger. The likes of Faced, Smashbox, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Lulus, Boohoo and Dolce & Gabbana beauty, as well as HP Inc. and haircare brand Tresemme. Beauty chain Sephora terminated their partnership contract with the YouTuber.
