At last night’s International Emmy awards handouts, U.K. developed series ‘McMafia’ earned the top honor for a drama series, whiles Australia’s ‘Safe Harbour’ won the nod in the category of best movie/miniseries.
Held inside the Hilton, New York, the 47th ceremony was made up of 11 categories, with entries coming in from 24 different countries outside the US. At the end of the show, Brazil and Australia won majority of the awards including a best comedy win for Brazil ‘Especial de Natal Porta dos Fundos (The Last Hangover).
‘Game of Thrones’ show runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss together with CNN stalwart Christine Amanpour were awarded with honorary plaques for their contributions to television and TV programming. The night was hosted by ‘Daily Show’ correspondent Ronny Chieng.
