Paramount Pictures has consented to Damien Chazelle’s 180 pages scripted drama ‘Babylon’. The developing film is set to star Oscar favorites Emma Stone and Brad Pitt, as both stars are in early talks to join.
If both stars agree to the project, Emma will play actress Clara Bow, an early sex symbol and box office star who was Hollywood’s first ‘it’ girl, whiles Pitt will play a fictional character, a silent film star who fails to make the transition to the new technology.
The storyline will chronicle around the late 1920s, during the movie industry’s transition from silent films to talkies. Marc Platt, Olivia Hamilton, Matthew Plouffe and Tobey Maguire are attached as producers. Paramount has set December 25, 2021 as release date, making it eligible as a contender for the 2022 award season.
Pitt is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment and Stone is repped by WME, Anonymous Content and Ziffren Brittenham.
