Hollywood couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, under their co-owned company Westbrook Inc. has signed a partnership deal with German-based film and TV Company Telepool.
The collaboration is set to germinate productions from film, television and digital entertainment formats. The initial stage of the contract has on board three premium film and TV projects that will cover the tentpole action, thriller and global sports categories, Variety reports.
Kosaku Yada, CEO of Westbrook Inc. said of the partnership, “We wanted these first projects to be representative of the kind of exciting and global entertainment that we bring to the world. We are particularly excited that we can both support best-in-class creative and can also showcase the power of our interconnected and strategic relationship with Telepool for distribution.”
Westbrook Inc. was formed through the initiative of the Smith couple, together with Miguel Melendez and Yada as a means of housing the Smith’s family global content and commerce businesses. The company embodies both newly launched and old past entities such as; Overlook Entertainment, Red Table Talk Enterprise, Westbrook Studios, Westbrook Media, the digital content studio, social media management and creative brand incubator, as well as direct-to-consumer business Good Goods.
Known as one of the leading film and TV distribution entity in Germany with a long history of 50 years in existence, Telepool’s CEO Andre Druskett disclosed, “Our unique agreement allows us the opportunity to partner in multiple ways on these exciting projects and is a critical step in Telepool’s long-term strategy to work and benefit across the entire content value chain.”
