Photography used to be a hobby for some and mostly taken up by men. But as time went by, some enthusiastic women also took their cameras and captured some photos. They migrated from being amateurs to becoming professional. Their works are being appreciated by a growing fan base and their potential is just being unmasked. Nine of such passionate female photographers are:
- Charlene Asare – C. Asare Photography
She is the CEO and head photographer of C. Asare Photography known for their high fashion and beauty works in the Ghanaian fashion industry. She takes stunning photos of clothes and black models with her camera whenever she gets the chance.
- Senyuiedzorm Awusi Adadevoh
She is a pioneer in a male-dominated field as a sports photographer. She has captured some of the impressive images of the Ghana Premier League and the Black Stars. She is also a travel photographer who seizes each opportunity to capture a shot of a landmark anywhere in the world.
- Indira Efua Echero
She is of both Ghanaian and Romanian heritage. She is a social documentary photographer who uses her work to spark conversations about societal issues. She captures the history and culture of society with her work, creating intriguing narratives.
- Nana Akua Boatemaa -Akiboat Impressions
She co-owns her photography company, Akiboat Impressions with her husband who is also a photographer. She is a lifestyle, wedding and commercial photographer. Nana Akua was the official photographer for Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2016 as well as Miss Malaika. Celebrities who patronize her services include Joselyn Dumas and Naa Ashokor.
- Josephine Kuuire-Mumble Photography
Josephine is the head photographer of Mumble Photography, her self-run company. She captures events, weddings and portraits.
- Yvonne Maura Appiah
She shoots for Uone Maura Fotgrafy and also assists Bob Pixel. She is unique with her shots and her creative works speak volumes.
- Vera Ewura Obeng-Vera Obeng Photography
Vera is a passionate photographer who captures wedding photos which narrate beautiful love stories.
